The Advisory Board of the Federal Academy for Security Policy is responsible for providing advice to the Board of Trustees on all matters relating to interagency further training in security policy. It gives recommendations on content, methodological approaches and further development of the courses taught and conferences held at the BAKS.

The Advisory Board ensures the consistency of the Federal Academy’s work and provides ideas for further development. It consists of senior members from institutions and organisations with political and economic relevance for the German security policy. The members are appointed for three years and can be reappointed again. The Advisory Board usually convenes twice a year, and its meetings are confidential.
